FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Video Art and Experimental Film Festival 2018
Presented at Tribeca Film Center and DCTV
NEW YORK, NY, November 8th-10th – The Eighth Annual Video Art and Experimental Film Festival (VAEFF) will once again be introducing New York City to the most conceptually and aesthetically arresting video art and experimental films from around the world.
The festival continues with the ever-popular “Beauty, Sex & Shame” program, and will be bringing back last year’s programs: “On the Margins” and “Fashion & Music – Special Selection”, a selection hand-picked by publicist and curator Niccolo Montanari. We will also be debuting the new “Color, Movement & Space” program.
VAEFF continues to invite a number of artists who amaze the art, film, and media worlds with their exceptional portfolio of work. The resulting lineup is a captivating roster of both established and emerging artists from around the globe.
Over the years, VAEFF has attracted many prestigious artists and scholars to its lively panel discussions, and this promises to continue. Previous guests include Alanna Heiss (founder of MoMA PS1), David Ross (former director of the Whitney and SFMOMA), Jason Sondhi (co-founder of Short of the Week and former lead curator of Vimeo Staff Picks), and Ziggy Levin (executive producer for Art + Commerce and faculty member at SVA).
VAEFF 2018 will kick off on November 8th at DCTV and will include screenings of all four programs and the festival’s opening reception.
The festival will continue on November 9th at Tribeca Film Center with more screenings of selected films, each followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers moderated by Mark Alpert.
On November 10th, VAEFF will present a special screening of selected works at DCTV followed by a discussion with artists and filmmakers, moderated by Mark Alpert. The closing gala with complimentary food, beer and wine will conclude the festival.
