Synopsis: In Nirvana, Jess captures the eighteen-day festival Koovagam, the largest gathering of transgender women in Asia, in the village of Villipurgam in Tamil Nadu.

Bio: Jess Kohl is a London-born visual artist working with still and moving images. Jess’s interest in society’s fringes and youth culture has seen her intimately document marginalised groups around the world, from punks in the Philippines to transgender communities in central India.
