Pressure: the countless faces of Chaos

Director: Ernest Desumbila

Synopsis: Among the ruins of an extinct civilization, a group of young wanderers press on without looking back.

As they tread the path laid by their cyber-gods, they will have to face the demons of time, beauty and the Mediterranean Sea itself before the equinox takes its last breath. Cornered by both the terrifying and the sublime, each of them must make the most transcendental decision of their lives: be ephemeral or become eternal.

Bio: Ernest Desumbila was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain (1980). His career took off at an international level due to his ‘There Will Be Haters’ Adidas commercial, which turned into a truly viral phenomenon. He has worked for brands such as Gatorade, Axe, Pepsi or Nike. Also, he directed music videos for labels like Kitsuné, Owsla and Columbia Records. His real introduction to the world was ‘Ibizious’, a fictional ad for a fake energy drink seen around the globe. Ernest was awarded Best Young Director in Cannes 2014, and his videos have earned him Vimeo Staff Pick recognition 5 times. He has created true internet hits, like the ‘Thunderclouds’ music video for the super-band LSD (Labrinth, SIA, Diplo) with more than 410 million views on Youtube, or the recently released League of Legends’ ‘Phoenix’, with more than 15 million views in just one week. Leo Messi, Neymar Jr. and Serena Williams are some of the names he has worked with, skillfully bringing out the best and most authentic side of each. Even as he works with worldwide celebrities, true storytelling runs through his veins. In all his work we can feel his love for graphic design, video games, manga and, of course, cinema. In 2019 he presented ‘Blood Metal Revenge’, his first short film, which was selected and premiered at Sitges Festival ’19.
