TV Time

Artist: Andrea Sisson

“TV Time” is an absurd, short fashion film for independent Los Angeles designer Kieley Kimmel’s SS15 collection “TV TIME”. The film is based on her father’s habit of TV watching during his struggle with cancer, and uses an eerie archival soundtrack of old television advertisements – providing a subtle commentary on the ‘female in entertainment’. Four other short teasers also accompany this film & collection.

Andrea Sisson is a multidisciplinary PHOTOGRAPHER, ARTIST, & DIRECTOR. She works in editorial, fine-art, & fashion photography, and in narrative & art-based film. Andrea is currently in production on her feature-length, co-directed project, the pop-art sci-fi “Everything Beautiful Is Far Away” starring Joseph Cross & Julia Garner. She designed the visual world of the film and is heavily involved in the overall creation/production of the project.

Andrea began her career in fashion with a BAS in Fashion Design & Design Theory, a CFDA Honorable Mention for her 2009 portfolio, and a Fulbright Fellowship. From 2009 – 2010, she designed for Australian designer & artist SRULI RECHT and in 2010, after acclaim for her wearable-instrument, audio-designed thesis & installation, she was awarded a 2010 Fulbright Scholarship for academia & design. With the fellowship, Andrea co-directed/created her Iceland-based, poetic documentary feature, “I Send You This Place”, with filmmaker & partner, Pete Ohs, and quickly became part of the movement of young, auteur & art-based filmmakers stemming from New York. The film garnered a New York Times Review and Andrea was named one of Filmmaker Magazine 2013’s ’25 New Faces of Independent Film’. In 2014, Andrea directed a dance film for NOWNESS of acclaimed Sia choreographer Ryan Heffington, and is currently working on narrative & fashion work with Viacom/MTV World. Andrea lives between east Los Angeles & New York City (and in hidden cabins in-between), frequently staying & working across Europe & internationally. She has also lived & worked in Iceland for some time. For additional work & to find full-length film links, please go to Andrea’s co-founded studio, Lauren-Edward Studio.
