Ways to Collaborate
Learn and Explore Ways to Collaborate and Partner with VAEFF Extended
Curated Screening Programs by Partners
Screening partners are invited to present feature films or curated programs, which may include thematic selections, retrospectives, or premieres. These screenings can be followed by Q&A discussions, offering audiences deeper insight into the works and fostering dialogue between filmmakers, curators, and viewers.
Exhibition Programs
Collaborations with galleries and institutions on installations, video art, and interactive projects. Galleries can showcase their artists’ video works in a cinema setting while contributing space for VAEFF-curated projects, such as photography exhibitions, VR presentations, or immersive installations. This reciprocal model encourages cross-pollination between cinematic and gallery spaces.
Workshops, Panels, and Masterclasses
Educational programming is a key component of VAEFF Extended. Partners may host talks, Q&As, or masterclasses with filmmakers, critics, scholars, or industry professionals. These sessions provide opportunities to exchange knowledge, explore artistic practices, and engage audiences in meaningful discussion.
Behind-the-Scenes Conversations with Filmmakers
Dedicated sessions that focus on the creative process, production challenges, and artistic choices. These intimate conversations highlight the “how” and “why” behind the work, giving audiences a rare glimpse into the realities of filmmaking and experimental practices.
NYC Underground Clubs, Micro-Cinemas, and Collectives
Underground clubs, micro-cinemas, and performance collectives can join as partners by presenting late-night screenings, live performances, or experimental crossovers between film, music, and nightlife culture. These collaborations expand VAEFF’s reach into the city’s vibrant underground scene, creating provocative spaces where cinema, sound, and performance art intersect.
Sexy Underground Themes
Building on VAEFF’s acclaimed Beauty, Sex & Shame program, partners are invited to explore nightlife aesthetics, desire, identity, and taboo through bold curatorial visions. These collaborations embrace the sensual and transgressive spirit of New York’s underground culture while maintaining an artistic lens that resonates with broader audiences.
Programs may combine film, performance, workshops, and lectures, alongside immersive experiences that challenge convention, spark dialogue, and celebrate beauty in all its provocative forms. This approach opens space for both intimate artistic explorations and public conversations that bridge underground culture with academic, institutional, and creative communities.
